Technology should give us time back. That means fewer unnecessary steps, clearer decisions, and tools that help people get on with what matters to them.

I’m developing a personal approach to putting that principle into practice, in the products I build and the tools I use every day.

How I approach a product

Start with the person’s problem: Understand what someone is trying to do, then find a clear, practical path to solving it. Every step in the interface should have a reason to be there.
Bring design and engineering together: I care about visual detail and how a product behaves. I work through the interface and the implementation together, balancing usability, appearance, and technical constraints.
Talk through the trade-offs: When priorities conflict, I’m comfortable having the difficult conversation: listening, explaining the options, and finding a compromise we can stand behind.
