I’m building a language-learning app around how Ukrainian speakers understand German. The focus is preparation for B1: vocabulary, grammar, and sentence building connected through context and deliberate practice.

More ways to remember
Bring pictures, audio, and written language together. Color-coded articles add a visual cue alongside the article itself, connecting a word’s meaning, sound, and grammatical gender.
German through a Ukrainian lens
Start with the language you already know. Compare Ukrainian and German meanings, grammar, and usage, with particular attention to where a direct translation can mislead.
Practice what gets mixed up
Put easily confused words and similar constructions side by side. Work through false friends and competing meanings, and give exceptions explicit attention instead of letting them disappear behind a general rule.
Repetition with a purpose
Use spaced-repetition algorithms to revisit learning over time. The approach is grounded in studying how people learn languages, with explicit learning rules and no AI-generated instruction.
A clear learning goal

The goal is to bring the language foundations needed for B1 preparation into one learning experience. Words belong with their articles, grammar belongs in sentences, and sentences belong in situations.
My work on Nimova brings product design, engineering, and a close study of language-learning concepts together. The method is being developed alongside the app.
